80s inspired bridal accessories and wedding shoes
The 1980s were well known for their statement making fashion, characterised by dramatic details, vibrant colours and unique designs. Think powerful shoulder pads, puff sleeves and I-mean-business stilettos and you start to get the picture! There is a growing interest in 80s inspired bridal fashion, with many brides looking for nostalgic elements to incorporate into their wedding look and we are HERE for it! Whether you’re looking to add a touch of retro style or fully immerse yourself in an 80s vibe, we’ve got the shoes and accessories you need to create the perfect blend of retro nostalgia and modern style. Let’s have some fun…
Statement Veils
When we first saw the prototype for style PBV9074 we were hooked! It has such a distinctly eighties vibe and wouldn’t look out of place in a classic 80s rom com! We love the statement ruffle which sits on the back of head and adds height, before cascading down the back. With layers of ivory tulle creating fantastic volume, this stunning veil is finished with all generous scatter of all over pearls. and comes complete with a metal comb attached to secure into place.
The 80s was also a time for bold use of colour, but surely you can’t bring that into an elegant bridal look? Of course you can! We developed our stunning trio of colourful veils precisely for brides wanting to add a pop of statement colour, without having to go all out with a colourful gown. Available in baby pink, pale blue and mint green, this single tier cut edge bridal veil is made from our signature soft tulle. Sitting at a 90cm length, it’s the perfect mid length to suit most gowns. So why not add some colour to you day? Style PBV9064 also comes complete with a metal comb to keep it attached secure into place.
Big beautiful BOWS!
Another great way to bring in a touch of 80s style but in a modern, elegant way is with bows- the bigger the better! Whether worn in the hair, on clothing or even on shoes, bows were a big deal back in the eighties and this is an easy trend to translate into a bridal look. We have a wide range of bow adorned accessories, and they don’t come bigger than our detachable oversized bow, PBA2036. Made in soft yet structured ivory tulle, this fabulous bow can be attached to the back of a wide range of wedding dresses, to instantly add the wow factory as you walk down that aisle!
If you want bows and an eighties veil vibe, look no further than super cute bow veil, PBV9062. Sitting at a short 60cm and with a double tier of ivory tulle, the satin bow which sits at the top of this pretty veil looks fresh and modern whilst giving a nod to something a little more retro.
Retro satin and lace gloves
If it was good enough for Madonna… there is something so truly 80s about a statement short glove. Wear them for your ceremony for a fun play on tradition, before taking them off to enjoy your reception and creating a more relaxed look. The collection has three short bridal gloves styles to choose from, all equally retro yet with a modern, sophisticated vibe. Whether you go all out eighties with ivory satin and a double bow on the wrist with PBA2032, soft and sheer with PBA2031 or bang up to date with PBA2022 complete with pearl embellished cuffs- we guarantee wearing a pair of bridal gloves really adds a distinctly stylish edge to your bridal look!
Add a classic court to complete the look
We’ve sorted your 80s veil, added some fabulous retro gloves so all we need now to complete the look is a pair of 80s inspired wedding shoes. The eighties was all about the classic court- after all, nothing screams power like a pair of pointed shoes and a stiletto heel! Whilst our Parker ivory satin court is a little softer in appearance, we think it strikes the balance of retro and modern to perfection. Parker is also made in dyeable satin so if you wanted to carry the colourful theme through to your shoes you can choose any colour you fancy!
Last but not least is our stunning Adele court shoes with pearl bows. That’s three 80s trends in one- points, pearls and bows, what more could a wannabe Madonna ask for?
